Fitbit is continuing to promote its premium subscription services by expanding its ecosystem, which integrates features and devices to better track and manage health, physical activity, and related metrics. Google has been investing resources in this growing sector and industry for some time.
That said, the intelligent personal trainer that Google introduced for Fitbit, leveraging Gemini technology, was previously limited in terms of devices and options. This is set to change, based on information from Macrumors and hints from the Fitbit community itself.
Indeed, Fitbit’s Personal Health Coach is expanding its features to several additional countries, currently available only in English. It builds on its existing presence in the United States by adding the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Canada. Unfortunately, there are no updates yet on support for other languages or regions.
What we do know is that iPhone users have reason to celebrate, as this Fitbit personal trainer is now extending to them as well. It will be available on iOS starting from version 16.4 or higher in all the mentioned countries.
As expected, logic prevails, and it’s confirmed that a Fitbit Premium subscription is required to access the service, starting at 9.99 dollars per month, with all other known Fitbit Premium features also included. Google states that new options will roll out gradually over time, as the Personal Health Coach service has launched in its usual beta or public preview mode.
As recently reported by colleagues at Android HDBlog, this health coach employs AI technologies based on Gemini to enhance the health, tracking, and physical control features within the Fitbit ecosystem, helping users improve their fitness in the most suitable way.
To achieve this, Fitbit learns from users’ habits, preferences, and physical activities, gathering data to analyze it in the background transparently, without overwhelming them with charts to interpret or impersonal instructions. Instead, it provides practical advice on healthy training and general steps to enhance overall health or reach set goals.
The trainer starts by asking a basic questionnaire to define an action plan based on objectives, priorities, and current activities. It also draws from the full database of collected data, including daily steps, workouts performed, sleep quality, nutrition, and everything documented on the Fitbit platform.
This enables users to have a fully conversational intelligent trainer they can talk to anytime for questions, with the Personal Health Coach offering relevant information on actions or routines that promote better self-care, healthy training, and goal achievement.
Users can build programs fully tailored to them, structure workouts, suggest changes, and monitor parameters in the simplest way, turning all data into easy-to-understand daily guidance with the approach of a human trainer… We’ll see if it becomes available in Spanish sooner rather than later!
